Windhorse Winter Wonderland
Yoga, pancake supper, moonlit snowshoe
February 4-5th.
Come to Windhorse Farm to enjoy a guided snowshoe under the light of the moon through our enchanting Acadian Forest. Relax before this winter excursion with a yoga class and pancake supper. After our walk, we will all enjoy a mug of hot apple cider harvested from our very own heritage apple trees! Walks will continue on foot in the absence of snow. All day Saturday and Sunday there will be skating, sauna, and of course plenty of time for aimless forest wondering.
The pancake supper is part of the Select NS Incredible Community Supper Series to raise awareness of sustainable living practises by incorperating local foods in your diet.
The guided moonlit snowshoe is part of "Take the Roof off Winter" campaign aimed at maintaining winter health and wellness. Will Martin, Director of Windhorse Forestry is guiding a beginner / family snowshoe with forestry intrepratations. Brad Toms, Wildlife Biologist from Mersy Tobeatic Research Institute, is guiding an intermediate snowshoe with winter wildlife intrepratations.
Please bring your own snowshoes. There will be a limited number of snowshoes available to rent at Windhorse Farm or find a rental location near you-->. In Halifax snowshoes can be rented at the Trail Shop -->.
