Job Opportunity - Host

Windhorse Farm, in Nova Scotia, is offering full time employment as the “Windhorse Farm Host” as early as Spring 2008. The host’s responsibilities will include

1. providing friendly and effective service to visitors, retreatants, vacationers, and program participants,
2. arranging, scheduling and coordinating visits and programs,
3. communicating about opportunities existing at Windhorse Farm and how people can participate,
4. budgeting for programs and facilities rentals, and
5. hosting and facilitating conversations and gatherings.

The successful applicant must

1. be an experienced meditation practitioner,
2. be a well organized person with experience in coordination programs and campaigns,
3. enjoy, and excel at, working with a team of people,
4. be an excellent communicator,
5. have experience in budgeting for programs, and
6. be computer literate.

Other desirable skills, abilities and experience include

1. public relations,
2. use of “Open Space” and other “Art of Hosting” technologies,
3. having lived in a rural community,
4. gardening, forestry, caring for animals
5. web site construction and maintenance,
6. data base management, and
7. implementation of clean energy technology, e.g. solar, wind, hydro, geothermal,
8. having worked with The Natural Step, Ecological Footprint Analysis, or other sustainability programs.

Compensation, commensurate with previous experience, will include salary, on-site accommodation, and various tangible and intangible benefits.
