Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification
When it comes to sustainability, Windhorse Eco Woodshop holds the two highest certifications in the world. Internationally, the shop is Chain-of-Custody certified by SmartWood to the rigorous standards of the FSC. Within the Acadian Forest Region, it is certified according to the environmental, social, economic and ethical standards of Nagaya Forest Restoration. These standards are even more demanding than those of the FSC. When you receive your ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ with your purchase, this is your assurance that the wood in the products you buy has not come from clearcuts or other damaging forestry practices.
- Flooring – Tongue and groove flooring as well as old-fashioned wide plank flooring.
- Decking - Tamarack is the logical alternative to the deficiencies of treated wood decking. Hemlock is perfect for the understructure.
- Specialty Hardwoods – The highest grades of hardwood lumber (12 species) for furniture and cabinetry.
- Construction Lumber - We always have some, and unlike our other wood products, prices for this commodity change frequently with market conditions, so please ask for a quote.
